Financial Institutions in Seychelles Required to Comply with AML/CFT Regulations

Professional Scholarship Initiative Launched by Financial Services Authority (FSA)

As part of its efforts to maintain a high level of regulatory compliance and adherence to service standards within the non-bank financial services industry, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has launched a Professional Scholarship Initiative for individuals working in the Fiduciary and Insurance sectors.

Objectives of the Initiative

  • Assist 20 individuals from licensed brokers and agents in these sectors to obtain the necessary qualifications and requirements to meet both Seychelles and international standards.
  • Cover the costs of undertaking the International Compliance Association (ICA) Certificate in Compliance, a leading professional body for regulatory and financial crime compliance.

Course Details

The ICA Certificate in Compliance is a comprehensive course that covers various aspects of international legislations, best practice developments, key compliance activities and processes, as well as:

  • Anti-Money Laundering
  • Financial Crime Prevention
  • Market Abuse
  • Managing Risk
  • Enforcement

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of Seychelles residing in Seychelles
  • Have good academic and professional records
  • Possess good written English skills
  • Not have completed the course before
  • Have been employed continuously within the Fiduciary or Insurance sector as a licensed broker or agent for at least two years

Application and Course Details

The deadline to submit applications is November 1st, 2021. Interested individuals can apply by submitting their application and relevant documentation to the Corporate Communication Unit of the FSA or via email to comms@fsaseychelles.sc.

  • The course will commence within a week of November 8th, 2021.
  • Can be completed in as little as four weeks.
  • A virtual workshop will also be held on December 2nd, 2021.
  • The course will be assessed through a one-hour online multiple-choice exam.
