Botswana’s Financial Professionals to Benefit from Compliance Training Course
The University of Botswana has announced a three-day Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) training course, designed specifically for Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs). The course will take place from September 6-8, 2022, at the Avani Hotel.
Course Objectives
The training program aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to comply with the Financial Intelligence Act of 2022 and its new obligations. The course covers key topics including:
- Understanding the legal framework
- Compliance administration and reporting
- Risk identification and assessment
- Implementing targeted financial sanctions

- Supervisory authorities for DNFBPs

Course Facilitator
Dr. Abraham Sethibe, Ph.D., ACMA, CGMA, ACPA (BICA), a former Director-General of the Financial Intelligence Agency, will facilitate the training course. Dr. Sethibe is an AML/CFT specialist with extensive expertise in financial analysis, fraud, and financial investigation.
