The Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA) is pleased to announce a series of webinars focused on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AMLCFT). Webinar 1: “Understanding High-Risk and Non-Reputable Jurisdictions”

In this webinar, participants will learn to distinguish between high-risk and non-reputable jurisdictions, identify the measures required to be adopted by subject persons, and understand the risk-based approach when faced with these jurisdictions. The session will also review different sources that may be utilized by a subject person.
Webinar 2: “Compliance with Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) Requirements”

This webinar will provide an overview of the FIU’s requirements and how to ensure compliance. Participants will learn about the types of reports required by the FIU, how to submit them, and what are the consequences of non-compliance.
Speaker Profile
Dr. Elizabeth Sammut Borg is a seasoned lawyer and compliance specialist with extensive experience in AMLCFT regulations. She currently holds the position of Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for both CSP and Retirement Pension Scheme companies. Dr. Borg has a Master’s Degree in International Criminal Law from the United Nations Interregional Crime Institute in Turin.
