The Court of First Instance in Aruba has seen a significant increase in embezzlement cases over the past few years. According to court records, 14 individuals are accused of various crimes including embezzlement, theft, and fraud.

Notable Cases

  • F.M.M.: Accused of embezzling funds from their workplace between October 2018 and March 2023, as well as taking gifts and money laundering.
  • E.P.T.: Accused of robbery and theft at a local food house on May 29, 2023, along with M.C.T.M.K., who is also facing charges of robbery and theft, as well as committing a crime with one or more others at a Quadracer house on the same day.
  • R.O.W. T. and W.: Accused of stealing money from a restaurant on December 20, 2020, along with one or more others.
  • S.O.d.C.: Facing charges of embezzlement, fraud, and counterfeiting between 2016 and May 30, 2023.
  • C.N.M.: Accused of attempted murder after allegedly dropping a block on someone’s head and threatening to kill them on June 10, 2023. They are also accused of attempting to assault a police officer by swinging a shovel and baseball bat, as well as intentionally destroying a police car.
