As a key player in the financial sector, BancABC has announced the opening of a Compliance Monitoring Officer position to ensure that all operational processes and procedures are strictly adhered to, guaranteeing compliance with legal regulations and ethical standards.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work closely with the Compliance Manager to develop and maintain an Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) framework for Zimbabwe, in line with region-wide requirements. The role involves:
- Formulating and maintaining AML/CFT strategies, policies, and procedures
- Implementing controls related to:
- Customer identification and verification
- Transaction monitoring
- Suspicious activity reporting
- Sanctions screening
- Employee training
- Record-keeping
- Maintenance
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong educational background, with a degree in Accounting, Law, Financial Intelligence, Banking and Finance, Business Studies, or a related field
- A minimum of one year’s experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams
- Keen interest in working in a multicultural environment
Responsibilities
The Compliance Monitoring Officer will be responsible for:
- Facilitating and coordinating the implementation of BancABC’s AML/CFT policy and other initiatives throughout the organization
- Demonstrating a sound understanding of the AML/CFT framework
- Developing long-lasting relationships with stakeholders
- Possessing strong initiative, task orientation, and attention to detail
