Monaco’s Financial Professionals Get Boost with Innovative Compliance Training
As the financial world continues to evolve at a rapid pace, Monaco’s financial center has emerged as one of the most resilient and dynamic hubs in the industry. Over the past decade, the Monegasque authorities have been working tirelessly to ensure that finance professionals based in the principality are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to compete on an international scale.
Professional Certification Program
A key part of this strategy has been the Professional Certification program launched in 2014 for front office professionals. This was followed by the mandatory Certification on Confidentiality introduced in 2018, which is required for all financial professionals working in regulated institutions in Monaco. To meet growing demand from candidates, including those who speak English as a first language, the AMAF recently increased the number of training sessions offered, with one session now delivered entirely in English each year.
Innovative Learning Approach
Meanwhile, the Certification on Confidentiality has entered its second phase, with the International University of Monaco (IUM) delivering the second wave of training since October 2021. IUM has adopted a cutting-edge approach to learning, using an interactive computer platform and smartphones to engage candidates directly with the subject matter. This innovative pedagogy has been hailed as a game-changer, with participants’ satisfaction levels reaching an all-time high after nine months.
Growing Demand for Work-Study Finance Courses
The demand for work-study finance courses at both Bachelor and Master’s level continues to soar, driven by banks and asset management companies looking to attract and retain top talent. The full-time MSc Finance program has also adapted to meet the evolving needs of investors and money managers, incorporating new standards on ESG, sustainable investment, compliance, ethics, fintech, impact investing, and private equity.
IUM’s Holistic Approach
What sets IUM apart is its emphasis not just on technical skills but also on the human dimensions of the financial industry. The university places a strong focus on teamwork, communication, critical analysis, intellectual curiosity, open-mindedness, and respect for others – the very qualities that make finance professionals stand out in today’s fast-paced market. As IUM students graduate, they leave behind their student persona to become the next generation of finance leaders.
Monaco’s Commitment to Innovation
With its commitment to innovation, constant improvement, and a holistic approach to finance education, Monaco’s financial center is poised to remain a global hub for years to come.
