CARE Somalia/Somaliland, a humanitarian organization, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Audit & Compliance Officer to join their team in Garowe, Somalia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s governance, risk management, control, and oversight systems.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will be a qualified internal auditor or accountant with at least four years of audit experience in an international non-governmental organization (INGO) or reputable audit firm. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, conducting, reporting, and following up on assignments from the audit plan
- Leading by example to maintain strong relationships with clients
- Delivering workshops and presentations as required
- Contributing to systems development work within CARE
- Promoting horizontal learning opportunities
- Responding to queries raised by management
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of audit tools and CARE’s operations
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess:
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively under challenging conditions
- Fluency in English
- Willingness to undertake significant travel and work with minimum supervision under difficult conditions
