Chad Adopts Tough Stance Against Financial Crime
N’DJAMENA, CHAD - In an effort to combat financial crime, Chad has enacted a new law that defines and punishes cybercrime and related offenses.

The Law No. 009/PR/2015 on Cybersecurity and the Fight against Cybercrime, which came into effect in 2015, provides for penalties ranging from one year to five years imprisonment with fines of up to 20 million francs for crimes such as:

The law also criminalizes offenses related to content on the internet, including:
- Spreading false information
