Compliance Officer Responsibilities in Cambodia’s Leading Microfinance Institution

Overview

Phnom Penh-based microfinance institution, CMK, is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all company operations are fully compliant with laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Job Summary

The Compliance Officer will develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conducts. They will also provide valuable advice and guidance to branches and operational departments on all compliance and permanent control issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance and Internal Control Functions: Performing and reviewing compliance and internal control functions to ensure company operations are compliant with laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Developing and implementing policies and procedures to prevent illegal or unethical conducts across branches and departments.
  • Monitoring and Adherence: Monitoring policy and procedure adherence across branches and departments to ensure compliance.
  • Risk Management: Assisting management in identifying potential risks and impacts of new products and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in economics, banking and finance, or related fields
  • At least three years’ experience in compliance, permanent control and risk management
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Adequate knowledge of banking and finance policies and procedures development
  • Good computer skills
  • High motivation to work independently
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • A good level of English or French language proficiency
