Corporate Compliance Training Gains Momentum in Serbia and Montenegro
The Corporate Compliance Association (CCA) has been making significant strides in promoting responsible business practices in Serbia and Montenegro.
Promoting Responsible Business Practices
Founded in 2018, the non-profit organization aims to foster fair and transparent relationships within the business community. The CCA’s efforts have focused on driving positive change by advocating for a multilateral and multidisciplinary approach to ethical business practices. Through its initiatives, the association has been promoting fairness, transparency, conscientiousness, and good customs not only among companies but also in society as a whole.
Education and Compliance
One of the key areas of focus for the CCA is education on compliance and ethics. The organization has developed specialized studies in “Business Compliance” in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, which aims to provide interested parties with a comprehensive program that covers all aspects of compliance.
Code of Responsible Business
The CCA has also introduced the Code of Responsible Business, an ethical guideline that promotes universal values and behaviors applicable to all economic entities. The code is designed to foster transparent and responsible business operations among companies that adhere to its principles.
Activities and Initiatives
In addition to these initiatives, the CCA has been conducting various activities aimed at improving compliance practices in companies and enhancing understanding of its role and responsibilities within organizations. These efforts have included:
- Seminars
- Lectures
- Workshops where experts in compliance-related areas share their knowledge and experience with colleagues and other interested parties
Annual Conference on Compliance in Business
The association’s Annual Conference on Compliance in Business, held on October 27th, has become a key event for the industry, attracting over 180 participants from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Slovenia. The conference serves as a forum for fostering connections, exchanging ideas, and promoting further cooperation within the compliance community.
Challenges and Successes
Despite challenges faced by the CCA, such as insufficient awareness of the compliance function in some sectors, the organization has achieved significant successes. One notable achievement is the legal recognition of the need for a compliance function in the public sector through the adoption of the Law on Corporate Governance of Companies owned by the Republic of Serbia.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the CCA plays a vital role in advancing responsible and ethical business practices in Serbia and Montenegro. Through its efforts to promote corporate culture, expand the community of compliance professionals, provide additional education, and advocate for proper regulatory implementation, the organization is contributing significantly to the enhancement of corporate integrity. As societal awareness grows and business entities face increasing obligations, the CCA’s efforts are expected to resonate more widely among young, educated individuals seeking to navigate this evolving landscape.
