Farm Africa, a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) specializing in agriculture, environment protection, and business development in rural Africa, has a vacant position for a compliance officer.
Job Summary
The compliance officer will provide risk and compliance expertise to Farm Africa’s Mastercard-funded program, Aquaculture Futures: Sustainable Jobs for Kenyan Youth. The program aims to tap the potential offered by the aquaculture sector for entrepreneurship and employment, building knowledge and capacity so that young people, especially women, are attracted by the opportunities and growth potential offered by working in aquaculture and mariculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular checks on Farm Africa’s systems, processes, and training programs to ensure compliance with donor rules and regulations.
- Provide adequate information and awareness to staff and partners on donor rules and regulations and any new government policies and directives.
- Lead the full process assessment for potential partners, including capacity building plans where required, and ensure that the plan is implemented.
- Facilitate timely processing of payments for all partners following the right procedures and securing approval as per delegation of authority.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related fields.
- Risk certification or equivalent professional qualification.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Sound understanding of administration procedures.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in NGOs, preferably INGOs.
- Computer literacy, working under pressure, strategic and analytical thinking ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skill, team building skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
