Compliance Officer Job Description in Cayman Islands

Job Summary

A leading financial services firm based on Grand Cayman is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer to join its team. As a key member of the compliance department, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business operates in accordance with global and local laws, rules, and regulations.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Report to the Compliance Head and take on AMLCO, MLRO, and DMLRO appointments for assigned client entities
  • Ensure all company activities and operations are carried out in compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Review, interpret, and advise on relevant laws and industry best practices pertaining to Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
  • Keep abreast of regulatory, legislative, and best practice changes, including possible impacts

Additional Duties

  • Assist in identifying and reporting suspicious activity
  • Write procedures, develop forms, and keep such procedures and forms up to date with new developments
  • Review internal compliance procedures on a regular basis
  • Act as the point of contact for any other relevant regulatory authorities

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. law, finance, business)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in compliance-related work in a financial or professional services institution
  • Recognized compliance qualification preferred (CAMS or similar)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Prior experience acting as an AML Officer
  • Detailed understanding of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to AML Compliance
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

Salary and Benefits
