Compliance Officer Job Opportunity in Malawi
Job Summary
The Pakachere Institute of Health and Development Communication is seeking a qualified Compliance Officer to provide overall leadership on all donor compliance requirements, including management of subgrants. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with USAID and other donor rules and regulations, as well as legal and regulatory requirements governing the award.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an annual compliance work plan that supports monitoring compliance within the organization’s donor and legal requirements.
- Review reported data for reliability and integrity through automated systems and enforcement of complete and authentic documentation.
- Provide guidance on policy and regulatory compliance matters to ensure strict adherence to deadlines and quality standards of reports.
- Identify compliance weaknesses and areas of actual or potential non-compliance with organization and donor requirements.
Sub-Grant Management and Compliance
- Ensure grants or contracts are well administered and that program and support teams are fully informed of relevant donor compliance regulations and organization procedures.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to grantees on USAID funding complexity and restrictions.
Partner Organization Risk and Compliance
- Work closely with program staff to oversee the ‘cascading’ of Pakachere IHDC’s safeguarding and operational policies to local partner organizations.
- Review partner contracts to ensure safeguarding and other policies are being properly incorporated.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent.
- 3 years of audit working experience in a donor-funded entity.
- Good understanding of NGORA requirements and major Donor Rules and Regulations, including those for USAID.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels.
- Clear understanding of Governance, Risk, and Compliance requirements of an NGO entity.
