Compliance Officer Role Created in Democratic Republic of the Congo
ACTED, an international non-governmental organization, has announced a new Compliance Officer position in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role is part of ACTED’s efforts to provide humanitarian aid and development interventions in some of the world’s most vulnerable countries.
Background
The Democratic Republic of the Congo remains affected by the consequences of decades of civil war, with IDPs struggling with chronic food insecurity and diseases linked to lack of access to water, hygiene, and sanitation. Since 2003, ACTED has been working to respond to emergencies, reinforce populations’ resilience, co-create effective governance, and promote inclusive and sustainable growth.
Job Description
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that ACTED’s programs and operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards. This includes:
- Conducting audits
- Monitoring financial transactions
- Providing training to staff on compliance issues
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- A postgraduate diploma in Audit, Finance, International Relations, Law, or a related field
- 1-2 years of previous work experience in audit, finance, logistics, administration, or law
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Organizational terms
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English
- Flexibility, dynamism, and autonomy
Experience in management and training is a plus.
