Compliance Officer Job Opening at St. Lucia Teachers’ Credit Co-operative Ltd.
The St. Lucia Teachers’ Credit Co-operative Ltd. is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Compliance Officer to join its team at the Castries branch. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant regulations and maintains high ethical standards.
Responsibilities
As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly and quarterly compliance reports for the General Manager and Board of Directors
- Organizing annual training sessions for management, staff, board members, and committee members on anti-money laundering (AML) and combating the financing of terrorism (CFT)
- Conducting regular internal AML audits and facilitating independent audits to ensure compliance with regulations
- Reviewing completed ISAR and DSOF forms for accuracy and completeness
- Serving as a liaison with regulatory bodies, reporting suspicious transactions and submitting relevant reports
- Reviewing new membership files to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Maintaining accurate records of all AML/CFT/CPF documentation and files
- Developing procedures to promote high ethical standards among employees
- Modifying the AML/CFT/CPF program as necessary in response to changing regulations, emerging risks, or international best practices
- Monitoring client activity by reviewing daily reports
- Responding to external stakeholders’ queries related to AML/CFT/CPF matters
- Ensuring that the organization’s AML/CFT/CPF policy is renewed annually
- Participating in compliance forums as required
Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role
- International specialization or certification in AML (e.g., ACAMS) would be an asset
- Familiarity with regulations governing credit unions and financial organizations would be advantageous
