Compliance Officer Role Takes Center Stage at Bridge Bank Senegal
Strengthening Risk Management and Control Capabilities
Bridge Bank Senegal has announced the creation of a Compliance Officer position to enhance its risk management and control capabilities. This new role is designed to ensure the overall control and prevention of non-compliance risks within the bank’s perimeter.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, including:
- Market integrity
- Staff ethics
- Customer interests
- Know Your Customer (KYC)
- Anti-money laundering/combating financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) provisions
- Ensure consistency and effectiveness of compliance risk controls
- Analyze and report compliance malfunctions
- Participate in regulatory reporting
- Promote a culture of compliance within the bank through training and awareness-raising initiatives
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Strong background in audit, control, risk management, law, business, finance, or IT
- Minimum of two-to-three years’ experience in a similar position within a bank
Additional Responsibilities
- Advise operational staff on all compliance-related issues
- Provide opinions on new products and transactions
- Ensure that control obligations imposed by regulators are met
- Implement corrective action plans following supervisory authority investigations
