Compliance Officer Role Takes Center Stage at Bridge Bank Senegal

Strengthening Risk Management and Control Capabilities

Bridge Bank Senegal has announced the creation of a Compliance Officer position to enhance its risk management and control capabilities. This new role is designed to ensure the overall control and prevention of non-compliance risks within the bank’s perimeter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, including:
    • Market integrity
    • Staff ethics
    • Customer interests
    • Know Your Customer (KYC)
    • Anti-money laundering/combating financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) provisions
  • Ensure consistency and effectiveness of compliance risk controls
  • Analyze and report compliance malfunctions
  • Participate in regulatory reporting
  • Promote a culture of compliance within the bank through training and awareness-raising initiatives

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Strong background in audit, control, risk management, law, business, finance, or IT
  • Minimum of two-to-three years’ experience in a similar position within a bank

Additional Responsibilities

  • Advise operational staff on all compliance-related issues
  • Provide opinions on new products and transactions
  • Ensure that control obligations imposed by regulators are met
  • Implement corrective action plans following supervisory authority investigations
