As an independent entity within the country program management, the Compliance Officer must maintain a professional and ethical demeanor at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting sample reviews of transactions and areas of operation to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, local laws, and donor regulations.
  • Reviewing procurement transactions, payroll, recruitments, onboarding, separations, performance appraisals, and other areas of operation.
  • Cascading International Medical Corps’ Code of Conduct to key stakeholders through training and other means.
  • Facilitating training on major donor compliance rules and regulations as necessary.
  • Serving as an advisory function to country management, assisting in spreading awareness and enhancing knowledge on policies and procedures.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assisting management in identifying, documenting, and mitigating compliance risks associated with program and operations activities.
  • Developing an Issue Log for management-approved action plans that includes compliance recommendations and track their timely implementation.
  • Exemplifying role-model behavior when it comes to ethics and organizational values.
  • Collaborating with the country program management team to conduct periodic reviews of applicable local laws.
  • Communicating regularly with management on progress made regarding compliance recommendations.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration and/or Audit.
  • 2-3 years of experience preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong time management and follow-up skills are essential.
  • Audit, risk, and/or compliance experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Excel, Word, and Power Point is also required.
