Responsibilities of a Compliance Officer

As a Compliance Officer with Oceanwide Expeditions, your responsibilities will be multifaceted:

• Manage a team of expedition guides, organizing and executing passenger activities safely and effectively
• Ensure compliance with company policies and standards, as well as local regulations set by the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) and the Antarctic Environmental Protocol
• Work closely with the captain, crew, and hotel department to ensure smooth operations and promote safe working practices among passengers and guides

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this critical role, you will need:

• At least two seasons of experience as an expedition leader on expedition cruise ships, with a strong background in the Arctic and Antarctic regions
• A university degree in a relevant subject, such as biology, ecology, or environmental science
• Extensive small boat driving experience
• Fluency in English
• First aid training and experience
• Ability to handle rifles and polar bear protection experience (valuable assets)
