Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission Seeks Compliance Officer
The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Officer to promote effective competition and informed markets in Fiji.
Job Summary
We are looking for a talented professional to fill a three-year contract position as a Compliance Officer, based in Suva, Central Region. As a Compliance Officer, you will assist the Competition and Compliance department in achieving its objectives by providing expertise and skills.
Accountability
As a Compliance Officer, you will be accountable to the Manager and report directly to them through Senior Compliance Officers. You will also inform the Manager about important issues and material violations of FCCC policies, regulations, and laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate complaints from consumers, businesses, and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
- Provide advice and expertise to senior compliance officers, managers, and other staff on compliance issues, methods, and approaches
- Facilitate the resolution of cases by analyzing evidence, identifying elements of cases, and assessing provision of Act
- Monitor non-compliance and escalate any issues where non-compliance is not addressed
Key Skills
- Comprehensive work experience in compliance with a minimum of four years
- Ability to complete work with limited instructions
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Self-starter with initiative worker
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
Requirements
- Degree in Law, Economics, Accounting, Banking, Finance, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information System, or Real Estate
- Comprehensive work experience of four years and above in the field of compliance
- Knowledge on how to carry out in-depth investigations
- Exceptional report writing skills
- Knowledge of Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission Act 2010 (an advantage)
Responsibilities Within Budget
As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that activities undertaken by them are well within the budgetary allocation for such items and FCCC’s financial regulations. The job description may be reviewed annually and updated as often as necessary.
