Uzbekistan: Financial Institution Compliance Officer Role Seeks Experienced Professional
Mercy Corps, a leading global organization focused on food security, water security, and education, has announced an opening for a Financial Institution Compliance Officer in Uzbekistan. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective financial management of Mercy Corps’ programs and operations in the country.
Job Summary
The Financial Institution Compliance Officer will be based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and will require up to 25% travel to regional offices. Housing is individual accommodation with unlimited freedom of movement beyond the house/office. Staff have reasonable access to healthcare, electricity, water, etc.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Experience: At least 5 years of progressive financial management experience, including supervisory experience
- Grants Management and USG Regulations: Strong background in grants management and USG regulations
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment
- Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel
Key Responsibilities
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Mercy Corps’ financial policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government officials, and other partners
Financial Management
- Manage the financial aspects of program implementation, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Supervise a team of finance staff and provide guidance on financial management best practices
