Job Description

A leading public company in Myanmar is seeking a seasoned Compliance Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, as well as identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in assessing company operations to determine compliance risk
  • Supporting regular audits of company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks
  • Handling statutory reporting, licensing applications, and inquiries from regulatory bodies and conducting related investigations
  • Supporting the preparation and follow-up on internal/external audit and regulatory inspection
  • Providing other necessary assistance as required by the Compliance team
  • Developing and implementing an effective legal compliance program
  • Proactively auditing processes, practices, and documents to identify weaknesses
  • Evaluating business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk
  • Addressing employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
  • Keeping abreast of internal standards and business goals

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field
  • Experience: 3 years’ proven experience in a compliance officer role
  • Skills:
    • Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures
    • Brilliant oral and written communication skills
    • Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail
    • Strong willingness to gain experience
