The Reach Out Mbuya Organization (ROM) has announced a vacancy for a Compliance Officer to ensure that effective controls are in place and functioning within the organization.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the use of all program resources, financial, material, and human resources. The Compliance Officer’s duties will include:
- Developing and operationalizing compliance assessment tools
- Conducting project reviews and compliance checks
- Monitoring non-compliance
- Reviewing accounting records
- Designing an effective compliance training program
The officer will also stay abreast of donor policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, as well as Uganda legal requirements.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should hold:
- An advanced university degree in finance, science, audit, accounting or any related field
- A minimum of five years of experience in projects in areas of financial compliance, audit, internal audit, accounting
The successful applicant will have:
- Exceptional analytical, investigative, and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
Role and Responsibilities
As a Compliance Officer, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that ROM’s activities are implemented in accordance with donor rules, regulations, and policies, as well as Uganda laws. The officer will work closely with line managers to effect compliance with laid-down policies and procedures, and will provide regular updates on related applicable policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
