Job Announcement

Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation Lesotho has announced a vacancy for a Compliance Officer to ensure financial control procedures are properly implemented across various projects. The role reports directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform internal audits to verify compliance with donor organization guidelines and other control procedures

  • Work closely with senior management to promote a culture of risk management compliance through staff training, reviews of institutional systems, and proactive identification of potential issues

Additional Duties

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of important program documentation, including procurement packages
  • Provide guidance on balancing rapid implementation with minimizing financial, reputational, and audit risks
  • Mentor staff in detecting potential irregularities in procurement and sub-award processes
  • Develop compliance tools and make recommendations to leadership on revising systems and procedures as needed

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, auditing or related field

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in program operations, financial management, contracts and grants administration, program management, compliance or related business experience
  • Experience interacting with senior management and leadership is essential

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills
  • Strong overall management acumen
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours
