CARE Uganda Seeks Compliance Officer

Kampala, Uganda - CARE Uganda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Officer to join its team in ensuring compliance with donor requirements, legally and ethically bounded internal and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct compliance audits on topics of concern, including procurement, property management, and agreements.
- Identify potential areas of vulnerability and risk, develop corrective action plans, and provide guidance and advice on how to prevent or address similar situations in the future.
- Support training and education programs for internal policies, donor requirements, and applicable government laws and regulations.
- Provide recommendations to ensure compliance with donor requirements, legally and ethically bounded internal and external regulations.
- Prepare and share quarterly reports on significant risks, compliance, and management issues, making recommendations for appropriate action.
- Work with sub-recipients to improve their compliance and follow up or assist in the implementation of internal and external auditors’ recommendations.
Requirements
Education
- A University degree in Accounting/Finance or related field from a recognized institution.
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a fluent writing style and good knowledge and practical use of English.
- Membership to ICPAU is required.
Experience
- At least two years of experience in auditing, compliance, with working knowledge of classical compliance techniques and tools.
- Experience working in an international NGO is desired.
