Job Description

The Bank of St Helena Ltd is seeking a skilled Risk and Compliance Manager to join its team for a fixed-term period from November 2023 until March 31, 2024.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and implement policies that adhere to governing laws, regulations, and policies
  • Provide guidance to internal departments on how to meet compliance requirements, with a focus on:
    • Anti-money laundering
    • Fraud prevention
    • Detection
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that impact the banking sector
  • Advise and train bank staff on compliance procedures
  • Lead investigations into suspicious activity
  • Recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate closely with both internal and external auditors

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility in work demands
  • A minimum of two years’ proven experience in a middle management position or relevant experience in:
    • Banking/finance
    • Auditing
    • Risk management
