Compliance Officer Roles and Responsibilities Take Center Stage in Grenada’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission
The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in Grenada is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal and Compliance Officer to join their team. As the agency responsible for regulating public utilities and protecting consumers’ interests, this critical role requires a professional who can advise on matters related to sector regulation and ensure compliance with governing legislations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal opinions on statutory compliance and related matters
- Monitor operational processes to guarantee adherence to high ethical standards
- Oversee licensees to ensure they comply with their licenses and relevant regulations
- Serve as counsel for the Commission during public hearings and represent the agency before courts of competent jurisdiction
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a regional law school or equivalent
Experience
- At least five years of experience as a practicing attorney, either as in-house Counsel or in active practice
Essential Qualifications
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strategic foresight
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
