The British Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (Operations and Corporate Services) is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Estates and Compliance Officer at its Tirana Embassy.
Job Overview
As part of a worldwide network representing British interests overseas, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operational delivery of estates and health & safety. The role includes ensuring smooth supervision of project works, preventative and reactive maintenance of facilities, and organizing arrival and departure processes. Additionally, the job holder will manage estate support staff.
Responsibilities
- Estates Operations (50%):
- Monitor and maintain a planned preventative works register and schedule/reactive work requests in collaboration with the Estates Manager.
- Compliance (20%):
- Manage inventory and warehouse stock, perform and document property inspections and hazard risk assessments for both residential and office estates in coordination with the Estates Manager.
- Health & Safety (20%):
- Work closely with Estate Manager to manage health & safety related issues, ensuring full compliance with FCO and local legislation. Report any risks proactively to the Estates Manager.
- Team Support (10%):
- Assist other members of the Corporate Services team as required.
Requirements
- Language skills: Fluency in English and Albanian, including good writing skills (minimum of B2 level in English and C1 level in Albanian).
- Flexibility and adaptability: Flexibility, creativity, and ability to learn quickly and develop new skills.
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to work independently and take the initiative while working well with others. Customer service skills, high attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks and work to deadlines.
- Resilience: Resilient with the ability to deal with pressure and work flexibility in order to manage competing demands.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant area would be advantageous.
- Working experience in an Estates/Facility role.
