Compliance Officer Job Description in Spain
Alter Domus, a leading asset management company with over 5,000 professionals across 23 countries, is seeking a Compliance Officer to join its team in Spain. The successful candidate will work closely with the Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) teams in the UK and Malta.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Compliance Function, the Compliance Officer will provide assistance and support to the Compliance Teams across EMEA of AD Group. The role will involve:
- Assisting in ongoing monitoring of client relationships for AML/CFT monitoring purposes for both Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and Funds
- Assisting in name matching on a daily screening tool and reviewing hits
- Reviewing client acceptance files, identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks, and escalating identified risks
- Undertaking sample checks on activities performed by the first line of defence and drafting reports
- Following up on outstanding documentation for client files
- Collecting figures and statistics to support local Compliance teams
- Participating in projects for Malta and UK Compliance teams as required
- Assisting in the performance of the Compliance monitoring programme
- Monitoring transactions
- Contributing to the development of a Compliance framework and culture
- Other duties as required
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years of experience in a Compliance and/or AML role in a financial services industry or an auditing firm or consultancy providing support to a financial service provider on Compliance or AML
- A thorough understanding of Know Your Customer and knowledge of UK/European Compliance and AML-related regulations
- Professional-level English skills (spoken and written)
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and reporting skills, with strong written communication skills
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
