Compliance Officer Position at International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Erbil, Iraq
Job Summary
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a highly qualified Compliance Officer to join its team in Erbil, Iraq. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing administrative control procedures, coordinating external auditing exercises, and performing risk assessments for IOM programs and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing administrative control procedures
- Coordinating external auditing exercises
- Performing risk assessments for IOM programs and operations
- Reviewing and making recommendations on internal control mechanisms
- Reporting concerns and issues related to non-compliance with IOM policies and regulations
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or
- University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience;
- Professional Certification: Professional certification as chartered accountant (CA) or certified public accountant (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will be a distinct advantage.
Required Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Excellent writing, communication and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of IOM finance, procurement and HR procedures and rules
- Strong familiarity in IOM administrative and financial management, accounting, budget monitoring, cash management and internal control procedures
- High level of computer literacy, in particular, experience in computerized accounting system and software
- Knowledge of MS Office specifically
Language Requirements
The candidate must be proficient in English (oral and written) and have a working knowledge of Kurdish and Arabic is an advantage.
