In a bid to ensure accountability and transparency in its operations, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has announced a vacancy for a Compliance Officer in Kampala, Uganda. Key Responsibilities

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for conducting internal quality assessments and checks visits of operational teams, providing management reports, and offering technical guidance to Field Offices. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining testing systems to ensure compliance with DRC procurement, administrative policies, and accepted accounting principles.
  • Conducting quarterly internal financial reviews to ensure compliance with DRC and donor guidelines.
  • Assisting in the development of recommendations and action points for improving gaps identified through Compliance Self Checks (CSC).
  • Establishing processes for the Finance and Grants team to ensure proper workflow, filing, and archiving of key documents.
  • Providing training on DRC and donor requirements to finance and non-finance staff.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree and professional qualification at least level 2 of CPA/ACCA
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a compliance or risk management position with an international NGO
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

  • A four-month contract with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and performance
