Compliance Officer Responsibilities in Namibia: A Key Role in Ensuring Regulatory Compliance
Capricorn Group Limited, a leading financial institution in Namibia, is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Officer (Monitoring) to join its team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the company’s compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the integrity of its compliance system.
Job Description
As a key member of the compliance team, the Compliance Officer (Monitoring) will be responsible for providing specialist assistance to Capricorn Group Limited in managing compliance risk associated with specified categories of regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will assist in the development and presentation of compliance monitoring manuals and plans, implement an appropriate monitoring methodology, and prepare monitoring working papers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Senior Compliance Officer (Monitoring) in developing and presenting compliance monitoring plans
- Implementing a monitoring methodology that adheres to Generally Accepted Compliance Practice (GACP) standards and principles
- Conducting special reviews, post-implementation reviews, and spot checks to identify areas of compliance weakness and improve controls
- Analyzing compliance findings and drafting reports for presentation to business unit management and Board sub-committees
- Monitoring the implementation of agreed action plans and tracking them to resolution

Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- At least three to five years’ experience in internal audit and/or compliance
- Experience in developing audit/monitoring manuals, plans, and methodology
- Ability to develop a monitoring programme and plan ahead effectively
- A general knowledge of the Group’s industries, legislation, rules, and regulations
- Good computer literacy skills and ability to communicate effectively
Qualifications
A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in internal audit, accounting, or financial management is required. Relevant professional certification will be an advantage, as well as a certificate in compliance management monitoring.
