Leading Trust Company Seeks Experienced Compliance Officer
A leading trust company in Tortola is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join its ranks. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company’s activities comply with regulations set by the British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (FSC) and other overseas regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop policies and procedures to monitor business activities
- Conduct compliance sign-offs on advertising and marketing materials
- Update and review compliance procedures, manuals, and controls
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the FSC
- Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk
- Develop corrective action plans
- Provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
- Maintain and review conflicts of interest logs
- Provide regular reports to senior management
- Act as a liaison with the sales team
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in a compliance role within a regulated entity
- Approval by the BVI FSC to hold the position
- Spanish language skills will be an advantage
