In a bid to strengthen its humanitarian relief efforts in the war-torn Central African Republic, international non-governmental organization ACTED has announced an opening for a Compliance Officer position.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing ACTED’s internal audit management, ensuring compliance with country rules and regulations, as well as providing support to mitigate high risks identified. The role is critical to the organization’s efforts in responding to humanitarian crises and building resilience among local populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internal Audit Management:
    • Implementing the approved national internal audit plan and conducting risk-based internal audit missions
  • Compliance Control:
    • Controlling the implementation of ACTED’s standard guidelines and FLAT System at the capital, area, and partner levels
  • Data Compilation and Verification:
    • Supporting the National Compliance Officer in compiling and checking project-related financial, logistical, administrative, HR, and program information
  • Risk Mitigation:
    • Identifying compliance issues and developing action plans to mitigate risks
  • Technical Support:
    • Providing technical support to Finance, Logistics, Admin, Audit, and Programme departments to implement action plans

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A postgraduate diploma in Finance/Audit or International Relations
  • At least 3-4 years of previous work experience in a relevant position
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
