Irish Banking Authority Recognizes Compliance Program
DUBLIN, IRELAND - The Central Bank of Ireland has recognized the Professional Diploma in Compliance and LCOI designation as satisfying its Minimum Competency Code for those who adjudicate on consumer complaints related to retail financial products.
Comprehensive Understanding of Compliance and Regulatory Requirements
The program, offered by the Irish Operations and Business (IOB) at University College Dublin (UCD), provides students with a comprehensive understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the financial services sector. The curriculum consists of four modules:
- Compliance and the Regulatory Structure: Students will gain an understanding of the regulatory framework and its implications for compliance professionals.
- Conduct of Business Rules: This module covers the rules and regulations governing the conduct of business in the financial services industry.
- Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Compliance: Students will explore the legal and regulatory aspects of compliance, including consumer protection legislation and data protection.
- Compliance Management: This module focuses on the management of compliance functions, including risk assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
Designed for Compliance Professionals
According to IOB, the program is designed to equip compliance professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate complex regulations and ensure adherence to best practices in the financial services industry. The course covers topics such as:
- Consumer protection legislation
- Data protection
- Financial crime
- Regulatory reporting
Professional Diploma in Compliance
Upon successful completion of the four modules, students are awarded the Professional Diploma in Compliance, a level 7 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications. To enroll in the program, candidates must be current members of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland or become members.
Online Delivery and Exams
The IOB Professional Certificate and Diploma in Compliance is delivered online, with exams taking place at the end of each trimester. The cost per module is €680.
