Compliance Risk Management Strategies in Palestinian Territory, Occupied

Job Description

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager to lead its Country Office’s efforts in managing risks and ensuring compliance with regulations in high-risk areas of occupied Palestinian territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Identification and Control: Lead the identification, assessment, and control of risks in the CO’s operations to ensure effective risk management culture.
  • Compliance Checks: Conduct regular compliance checks on high-risk areas/issues and report to the CD and CMG on compliance issues.
  • Compliance Improvement Measures: Implement compliance improvement measures throughout the CO.
  • Risk Management Registers: Ensure that risk management and compliance-related CO registers are complete and up-to-date.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to CO staff on compliance with regulations not specific to a given function (e.g. SSD, COTER, ICLA).
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with NRC’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or related field.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of international humanitarian law and human rights law.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
