Financial Institution Compliance Requirements in Palestinian Territory, Occupied: A Critical Role
In a move to strengthen its risk management and compliance capabilities, a prominent financial institution has announced an opening for a Risk and Compliance Manager in the Gaza Area Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating internal and external risks across the field office.
Responsibilities
The Risk and Compliance Manager will work closely with senior staff to develop high-quality approaches and systems to monitor and respond to external risks associated with local government and authorities, compliance with policy and regulations, and legal and political issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Fraud Risk Assessments and Compliance Reviews: Conducting fraud risk assessments and compliance reviews as part of the annual risk and compliance workplan
- Internal Control Design and Mitigation: Providing support for internal control design and mitigation for new projects or processes
- Risk Management Processes and Training: Facilitating risk management processes and providing training to staff on key controls and compliance measures
- Incident Response and Investigations: Conducting incident response and investigations, including fraud and safeguarding investigations
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in any relevant field and at least 5 years of experience working in a similar role. Strong analytical skills, excellent business partnering abilities, and high-level cultural awareness are essential. Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic and English is also required.
