Compliance in Finance Takes Center Stage in Haiti

As Haiti continues its journey towards recovery and development, a new role has been created to ensure compliance with donor regulations and internal policies within the non-governmental organization, GOAL.

The Compliance Manager Role

The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all departments, including programs, finance, logistics, and human resources, adhere to GOAL’s procedures and policies, as well as those of its donors. This critical role will also oversee sub-grant administration, monitoring and reporting, and internal audits to identify areas of vulnerability and risk.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and audited
  • Oversee internal controls to prevent fraud and mismanagement
  • Work closely with the Systems Director and other departments
  • Provide training and support to staff at field sites

Requirements

Education

  • Degree in finance, compliance or related area of study

Experience

  • At least three years of related work experience in administration, finance, compliance or audit

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in French, both verbal and written; English an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn new systems and IT software quickly and effectively
  • Organized and flexible with good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with initiative
  • Willingness to travel to field sites on a regular basis

Advantageous Experience

  • Experience working with institutional donors such as BHA, EU, and UNICEF ECHO

Location

The Compliance Manager will be based in Port-au-Prince but will require regular visits to field sites.
