Introduction

In an effort to ensure regulatory compliance and fair business practices, a leading financial institution in Maldives has announced an opening for a Banking Compliance Officer. This role requires a highly motivated and experienced individual with expertise in compliance functions of financial institutions.

Responsibilities

The Banking Compliance Officer will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing bank operations to ensure adherence to regulations and internal procedures
  • Supporting the risk and compliance function in developing policies and procedures
  • Monitoring performance of compliance programs
  • Implementing rectification measures as needed
  • Conducting compliance-related training sessions for business units
  • Monitoring high-value transactions
  • Preparing timely submission of reports to regulatory bodies

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university or equivalent qualification
  • At least three years of work experience in the banking industry, including two years in a compliance unit
  • Maldivian nationality
