GASI Conducts Compliance Training Seminars for Employers and Employees Across Mongolia

Strengthening Labour Law Compliance in Mongolia

The General Agency for Specialized Investigation (GASI) in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) social partners has conducted compliance training seminars for 540 employers and employees across various locations in Mongolia. The seminars were held from September 20-25 to October 11-14, targeting key sectors such as mining, construction, textile, and energy.

Training Objectives

The seminars aimed to deepen the understanding of important laws, regulations, procedures, and methods among employers and employees, with a focus on:

  • Introduction of the revised Law on Labour
  • Revised rules and regulations connected to the law reform
  • Labour safety and hygiene requirements
  • Implementation of labor and social insurance laws

Training Facilitators

Senior inspectors from GASI, along with officials from the Mongolian Employers’ Federation (MONEF) and Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU), facilitated the training sessions.

Participation and Demographics

A total of 540 people participated in the seminars, including:

  • 174 women
  • Representatives from various sectors, including mining, construction, textile, and energy

Project Background

The training is part of the “SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia” project funded by the European Union. The goal of the project is to improve legal knowledge and understanding among employers and employees, promoting compliance with labor laws and regulations.

  • Umnugovi province: September 20-25
  • Ulaanbaatar: September 29-30
  • Dornod province: October 4-7
  • Bayankhongor province: October 11-14
