Financial Institutions in Jamaica Required to Comply with Anti-Money Laundering Regulations

KINGSTON, JAMAICA - As the financial sector continues to grow and evolve, compliance training has become a crucial aspect of doing business in Jamaica. To ensure that institutions are equipped to meet the demands of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean has partnered with the Anti-Money Laundering and Financial Crimes Institution, Florida to offer professional certifications.

AMLFC Institute Professional Certifications

The AMLFC Institute Professional Certifications are 15-16 week short courses designed for individuals and teams in public and private sector organizations. The certifications aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of AML, Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Financial Crimes Prevention (FCP) regulations, as well as practical skills to implement effective compliance programs.

Available Certification Courses

There are three certification courses currently being offered:

  • Regulatory Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) & Financial Crimes Prevention (FCP) Certification course
    • A 16-week online program that covers all key elements of a risk-based regulatory framework
    • Modules include: international context, role and functions of supervisors, obligations of regulated entities, assessing risks, quality of information, and more
  • Fraud Risk Management Certificate course
    • A 15-week online program that teaches participants how to build an effective fraud risk management program to combat organizational fraud
    • Covers key components such as enterprise and fraud risk management, fraud detection programs, and financial statement fraud
  • Anti-Money Laundering & Financial Crimes Prevention Certification course
    • A 15-week online program that provides participants with the knowledge and skills to implement and maintain a compliance program in accordance with local and international AML and CFT laws and regulations

Fees are subject to change, but current prices range from USD$1,500.00 to USD$2,500.00 per course.
