  • Relationship between investigative judges, anti-money laundering authorities, and other relevant institutions

Training Sessions

The training sessions will be conducted over four days, bringing together:

  • Investigative judges
  • Expert investigators in a task force approach
  • Each group consisting of five participants representing different disciplines:
    • Investigative judges
    • CoI investigators
    • Police investigators
    • Representatives from supporting institutions such as the AML-CT Office and FBoSA

Program Goals

The program aims to:

  • Equip participants with the skills necessary to identify patterns of indirect evidence from multiple evidentiary sources
  • Reinforce investigative cooperation and highlight the value of multiple disciplines in tackling complex financial crimes
  • Build a network of trained experts who can work together to combat financial crimes effectively

Handbook on Financial Investigations

In addition to the training program, a handbook on financial investigations is being developed to provide a comprehensive guide for conducting investigations. The handbook will:

  • Detail investigative procedures from case initiation to the preparation of a criminal report
  • Be prepared in accordance with the Iraqi Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code
