Croatia Probe Uncovers Suspected Fraudulent Activities in Finance
Luxembourg, June 13, 2024 - Urgent Evidence Collecting Underway
The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) in Zagreb, Croatia has launched urgent evidence collecting activities in several counties following suspicions of subsidy fraud and document forgery. This move comes as a result of a criminal investigation led by the EPPO in cooperation with the Međimurje County Police Administration.
Suspects Targeted for Multi-Million Euro Subsidy Frauds
The investigation is targeting several Croatian citizens who are suspected of committing multi-million euro subsidy frauds, along with document forgery, to the detriment of the EU budget. Further information on the progress of the investigation will be shared with the public at a later stage.
