Czech Republic Adopts Updates to Banking Regulation, Publishes English Translations of Key Laws

Harmonizing Financial Market Regulations with EU Standards

The Czech government has introduced Act No. 96/2022 Coll., modifying several laws related to the capital markets to align with European Union standards. This updated legislation, effective as of April 13, 2023, aims to support the implementation of the EU’s Capital Markets Union.

Key Updates and English Translations

To facilitate international cooperation and transparency, the Ministry of Finance has released English translations of key acts:

  • Act on Business on the Capital Market
  • Act on Bonds
  • Act on Investment Companies and Investment Funds

Additionally, the Ministry has published English versions of the following acts, previously unavailable in translation:

  • Capital Market Supervision Act
  • Government Regulation on the Investment of Investment Funds

Public Feedback Invited

The public is invited to provide feedback on the English translations by July 1, 2023, through an email submission to ales.kralik@mfcr.cz.

The updated laws are now available for download from the Ministry’s website in both PDF and DOCX formats.
