- Targeted Actions: Treasury has numerous authorities to take targeted action against terrorists, including Executive Order 13224 and the Foreign Narcotics Kingpin Designation Act.
- Bilateral Engagement: Treasury engages with key foreign governments to disrupt and dismantle external funding sources to extremists through information sharing and coordinated enforcement actions.
- Attacking the Finances of Terrorists: Denying terrorist groups access to funds has long been a priority within TFI, and Treasury has intensified its efforts in this arena over the past year.
- Threat Finance Cells: Treasury has helped pioneer a novel approach to attacking illicit financial networks by providing threat finance expertise and actionable intelligence to U.S. civilian and military leaders.
- Expanded Treasury Footprint in Key Regions: TFI has established Treasury Attaché offices in key regions, including the Bahamas, allowing for closer collaboration with international partners and more effective disruption of terrorist financing networks.
