In a bid to protect its environment and maintain its natural sustainability, Kiribati has established an enforcement arm known as the Environment Enforcement & Compliance Unit (EECU). This unit is responsible for implementing and enforcing the Kiribati Environment Amendment Act 2007 on the ground.
