The Green Corruption program focuses on applying anti-corruption expertise to the environmental sector, including wildlife trade, forestry, and mining.
Key Responsibilities of the Expert Advisor
- Representing the Basel Institute’s Green Corruption program in Malawi, coordinating with government agencies and civil society
- Providing technical assistance to prosecutors and investigators on financial investigations and asset recovery
- Developing and delivering training on criminal analysis and financial investigation techniques to prosecutors and investigators
- Mentoring investigators in the use of financial investigations and supporting partner agencies in major cases
Requirements for the Expert Advisor
- At least 10 years’ experience in conducting financial or money laundering investigations, asset recovery efforts, or advising government agencies on capacity building
- Experience working with corporate entities, mutual legal assistance, international law enforcement cooperation, and delivering training to law enforcement is an advantage
- Strong understanding of financial investigations, asset recovery, and money laundering laws
