Anticorruption Program (ACP) in Sri Lanka
=============================================
Introduction
The Anticorruption Program (ACP) was initiated by the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Office of Anticorruption and Integrity (ARD) in Sri Lanka. The program aimed to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity within various organizations and institutions in the country.
Consultative Council
A key component of the ACP was the establishment of a Consultative Council. This council consisted of 61 members representing various organizations and institutions in Sri Lanka. Their role was to provide advice and guidance on program activities, ensuring that the ACP stayed focused on its goals and objectives.
Grants Request for Assistance (RFA) Process
The following steps were taken to implement the ACP:
- On March 9, 2006, a draft RFA package was submitted for CO and CTO review and approval.
- The RFA was converted into an Annual Program Statement (APS), which was published in the Sunday Observer on May 28, 2006.
Outcome of the ACP
During the course of the ACP, a total of 20 fixed obligation small grants were awarded. The first grant was awarded to the British Council for effective report writing and related training.
Conclusion
While there is no information provided about a final project completion report, the ACP made significant progress in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity within Sri Lanka’s organizations and institutions.
