The Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) plays a crucial role in combating money laundering, terrorist financing, fraudulent activities, and other financial crimes in Fiji. Responsibilities

  • Overseeing compliance with the Financial Transactions Reporting Act (FTR Act) by financial institutions, including commercial banks, insurance companies, finance companies, money remitters, and real estate agents

  • Identifying emerging trends and threats in money laundering and other serious offenses in Fiji
  • Maintaining a database of individuals and entities subject to sanctions, including those listed on the United Nations Consolidated List
