Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is seeking a Finance Manager to support its field teams in deploying emergency response initiatives in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

Job Context

The Palestine mission is part of HI’s Mashriq regional programme, which covers Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine. The organization has significantly escalated its financial forecast for 2024 to respond to the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip following the October 2023 escalation between Hamas and Israel.

Job Responsibilities

Financial and Budget Management

  • Supervising budget drafting
  • Ensuring optimal use of HI’s funds
  • Providing necessary summary notes for financial management

Accounts Management

  • Acting as the focal point for accounting issues
  • Ensuring accuracy and updates of accounts information
  • Validating entries/documents for monthly and annual account closings

Financial Management of Institutional Funding

  • Leading drafting of funding proposals
  • Examining and negotiating funding agreement conditions
  • Monitoring expenditure against funding

Cash Flow Management

  • Formalizing fund requests
  • Assisting project managers in defining cash-flow requirements
  • Evaluating payment methods

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have at least 6 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years of experience in finance management in emergency responses in conflict-affected countries. Fluency in English is required, as well as the ability to manage stress and prioritize tasks under pressure.

  • Perdiem: €775 net/month (paid in the field)
