The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a highly qualified Financial Reporting and Compliance Officer to join its team in N’Djamena, Chad.
Job Summary
As a Financial Reporting and Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for providing financial reporting and budgetary services support to the Country Office in accordance with IOM’s financial regulations, rules, and procedures. You will also strengthen internal controls, track expenditures, monitor financial exception reports, and facilitate implementing partner finance briefings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial reporting and budgetary services support to the Country Office
- Strengthen internal controls by reviewing and documenting approval processes
- Track expenditures and verify financial transactions in accordance with IOM rules and regulations
- Monitor financial exception reports for unusual activities and investigate anomalies
- Facilitate implementing partner finance briefings and capacity building
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Administration, Economics or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of professional work experience.
- Professional Certification: Professional certification as chartered accountant (CA) or certified public accountant (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
- Experience: Experience in finance, accounting, or financial and operational management services.
- ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems (SAP) is highly desirable.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Languages
You must be fluent in English (oral and written). Working knowledge of French and Arabic is an advantage.
